I am a reporter for the Daily Progress in Charlottesville, Virginia. I report on K-12 education in the Charlottesville area.
I am an alumnus of Appalachian State University in Boone, North Carolina, with my Bachelor of Science degrees in journalism and nonprofit public relations.
Most recently before working at the Daily Progress, I worked as the enterprise editor at The Appalachian, Appalachian State’s student newspaper, where I managed and created long-form, investigative journalism projects.
I have also interned for the Student Press Law Center, a 501 (c)(3) nonprofit that offers legal assistance to high school and college journalists in the nation. As a reporting intern, I write articles about incidents where student journalists have encountered and overcome obstacles to free press, as well as other First Amendment issues that students face.
I am also the former editor-in-chief at The Appalachian and media relations intern at Wine to Water, a 501 (c)(3) nonprofit that works to ending the global water crisis.
